The “Be Like Ben” Program:

Every year since he graduated, Ben VanGorder has reached out to SDMT to cover one student’s dues. Though he preferred to remain anonymous, he graciously allowed us to share his name and generosity this year.
The “Be like Ben” Program is modeled after his kindness.
Here’s How it Works:
We are asking YOU, SDMT alumnus, to help support current members! We never want finances to prevent this program from being accessible to smart, driven students, but with rising inflation costs for hotels, flights, gas and tournament fees, dues have increased over the past couple of years. We want SDMT to continue being diverse, competitive, and financially sound for the next generation of students.
Over our 22-year history SDMT has decades of alumni. We currently have 6 competitive teams, with approximately 60 students. With the support from our extensive alum, we can help keep these dues as low as possible. SDMT has given so much to so many people the last 22 years. We are asking our alumn’s to consider sponsoring part of a student’s dues for one semester or the whole year.
Our hope is you can Be like Ben and give back in this small way to ensure it continues to give to students for years to come.
