1.) Can I join even if I’m not a pre-law major and/or don’t have a mock trial background?

Of course! There are no requirements as to what you’re majoring in or what your previous mock trial experience is! The skills necessary to succeed will be gradually built over your time in the program.

2.) When are tryouts?

September 12th, 13th, and 16th. While your assigned tryout time will only be about 15 minutes, it is important that you keep all 3 of these days available until your official tryout time is assigned! The tryouts will occur on the Tempe Campus, in either Discovery Hall or Coor Hall. Your specific tryout date will be confirmed after you submit your tryout confirmation form.

3.) How can I prepare for tryouts?

Fill out the interest form to stay informed about when the season is starting back up, attend office hours once they become available, and practice the material you’re preparing to present for tryouts!

4.) What do I wear to tryouts?

If possible, we encourage you to wear professional attire. Suits, blazers, dress pants and long skirts are all great! We understand, however, if you don’t have access to those right now, and just ask that you try and wear the closest thing you can to business casual attire!

5.) Does SDMT have any tabling locations?

Yes! You can catch us at these locations and learn more about the club, ask questions, and get more tryout information!
- Barrett Bash on August 17th at the Mullett Arena from 10:00am – 11:00am
- ASU Student Organization Open House on August 24th at the Student Pavillion, Sentina Ballroom from 11:00am – 2:00pm
- ASU Downtown Campus on August 24th at the Civic Space Park from 6:00pm – 7:00pm
- W.P. Carey Welcome Carnival on August 26th at the Dean’s Patio, located by the W. P. Carey School of Business buildings from 5:00pm – 7:00pm
- West Campus Recruitment Event on August 26th at the La Sala Ballrooms from 5:00pm – 7:00pm
- Summerset Fest on August 26th on the Sun Devil Fitness Center Field from 7:00pm – 10:00pm
