Nicole Morote of Lima, Peru is a senior majoring in Marketing and Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership with a minor in Spanish Literature and a certificate in complex issues in healthcare. This is her fourth year with SDMT, and she is currently the program’s President. Nicole has also previously served as SDMT’s Vice President for two years. Nicole is a board member for the American Mock Trial Association where she works alongside other students on initiatives to improve collegiate mock trial as an activity. In addition to mock trial, she was a community organizer with Swing Left, a canvasser with the AZ Democratic Party and a former US House and Senate intern. Her favorite part of mock trial is tournament road trips, impromptu rest stops, and bonding with every team, and is looking forward to an amazing last year with SDMT. Something that you might not know about Nicole is that she is a first-degree black belt. In her very limited free-time, she looks longingly at the cats on the AZ Humane Society website, blasts music, occasionally bakes.
